About Us

Rick and Sarah Demastus have been serving in Scotland since August 30, 2017. They served with Carl and Leta Miller in Inverurie, Scotland until October 7, 2018 and then moved to Aberdeen, Scotland to start Open Door Baptist Church. The church has seen souls come to Christ, believers baptized, and Christians discipled to grow in Christ.

Testimony

Salvation & Calling

I trusted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was 12 years old. A year later God called me to go into full-time Christian service in missions. Not knowing which field He wanted me to go to, I endeavored to complete high school and go to Shawnee Baptist College.

My junior year, God laid on my heart the field of Scotland. The country that used to send out its own missionaries was now the country in need of them. I accepted the call and have been pursuing that goal ever since.

Preparation & Ministry

My wife and I both graduated from Shawnee Baptist College (Pastoral Theology - Rick & Secondary Education in English & Music - Sarah). We were ordained and sent out of Shawnee Baptist church in Louisville, KY in September of 2014 and started making calls for meetings. We went full time in February of 2015 and reached 33% by our first year.

We are through BIMI and have been since December 2014. Being in God's will has been our life's goal and church planting in Scotland is without a doubt God's will for our lives.
